ABOUT THE FUND
The Marilyn P. Kauffman Golf Course Enrichment Fund has been
created by the family and friends of Marilyn Kauffman. This fund
has been established in loving memory of Marilyn and pays tribute
to her passion for, and dedication to, the Golf Course and the
University of Maryland. The “Kauffman Fund” will support the
operation, enhancement and programmatic efforts of the
University Golf Course Staff.
Marilyn understood the important role the Golf Course plays in the local
community, not only as a place to play a good game of golf and have a drink or
meal, but also as a place to socialize, learn, relax and refresh the soul. The
Marilyn P. Kaufman Fund will be endowed upon reaching the University of Maryland
College Park Foundation endowment requirements and pay lasting tribute to the
memory of Marilyn.
ABOUT MARILYN P. KAUFFMAN
Marilyn Kauffman, mother of two, was heavily involved within the
University of Maryland campus and community. Starting in 1988 she
worked with the University of Maryland “Terps” Service, eventually
retiring in 2003 before returning to work for the University System of
Maryland. Marilyn was an avid Maryland sports fan, regularly
attending football and basketball games along with her sons. She even
made a trip to cheer on the Terps during their Gator Bowl victory in
2004. A member of the University of Maryland Golf Course since 1988,
Marilyn continued her dedication to UM by serving on the Advisory
Committee. She is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey and Scott
Kauffman, both of whom are University of Maryland graduates. Marilyn
will be greatly missed by the University of Maryland family.
